OMC

OMC Works Hard for Oregon Midwives!

We provide confidential, legally protected Peer Review and Case Review to support quality midwifery care, build community, and meet the license requirements for LDMs in Oregon.

We partner with Oregon ACNM Affiliate to develop and promote legislation that benefits midwives in every practice setting

We meet regularly with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to advocate for improved OHP reimbursement for community birth midwives

We attend meetings of the Board of Direct Entry Midwifery (BDEM) and partner with them on Rules Advisory Committees (RACs) and other collaborative opportunities.

We work together with the Oregon Perinatal Collaborative to improve home birth and birth center to hospital transfers across Oregon through the Community Birth Transfer Partnership.  This statewide improvement initiative was founded in 2021 and is open to all birthing hospitals, community midwives, and EMS services in the state.

We partner with midwives and other professionals across the state on Quality Improvement initiatives including evidence-based practice documents, CE courses, and large-scale QI initiatives.

We host a yearly conference for high quality, community midwifery-focused continuing education based directly on feedback from our members

We partner with Oregon ACNM Affiliate to put on Miles For Midwives, a 5k run/walk FUNDRAISER supporting Oregon Midwives through the Oregon Affiliate of ACNM and Oregon Midwifery Council

And so much more!
